“I never called for the death of any Kenyans. I didn’t and I will never call for it,” Maalim stated firmly, addressing the controversy that has stirred public outcry.
Highlighting his long-standing political career and reputation for integrity, Maalim emphasized, “I am a very honest person for over 30 years of have been in the politics of this country. I am one person who has had a track record that is matched by very few people.”
Maalim, who entered politics in 1992 under Ford Kenya as an opposition MP when the majority were aligned with KANU, affirmed his commitment to his principles and philosophy. “I stuck by my principles and my philosophy and that has never changed,” he affirmed, dismissing any insinuations contrary to his steadfast stance.
Addressing his constituency and electoral base, Maalim expressed confidence in his continued popularity and support among the people who elected him. “When it comes to votes, I will go back to my constituency. Everybody knows my popularity on the ground,” he asserted, noting his enduring presence and electoral success over the decades.
