Women and youths from Bungoma county have been urged to be on the forefront in applying for women ,Youth funds and trade loans

Speaking while addressing jitahidi women group from bukembe West ward ,CECM for Gender,culture, Youth and Sports Eng Agnes Naliaka asked the women to work together and market their product.

She also challenged the women into buying their own land for farm produce.

She asked young women within the group to enroll for catering course and other courses to enable them become useful people in the community.

The jitahidi group which has more than 50 members engages in different activities including farming, poultry farming and cooking of different foods.

She noted that Governor Lusaka is committed to ensuring that women and youths are financially and economically empowered.

Earlier on Eng Naliaka toured the Sang’alo Cultural center and the sikele sia mulia site where she noted that the center needs to be equipped to enhance Cultural activities and also elevate it to a national status.

She added that the center which sits on a ten acre land should be put into proper use.

Eng Naliaka was accompanied by acting chief officer Gender Alice Nekesa, acting sub county admin fanuel Juma and officer from the Gender office.
