Leadership Shake-Up at DAP-K Bungoma as Party Aligns with New Opposition Strategy

By Timothy Wekesa

In a strategic move to bolster its influence and adapt to its evolving role, the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K) Bungoma branch has announced significant changes to its grassroots leadership.

The party’s youth wing has appointed Kennedy Mupalia as the new branch chairman, succeeding Chris Makokha, who stepped down after the recent meeting. These changes are part of a broader effort to revitalize the party’s structure and enhance its impact within the county.

In his remarks, the outgoing chairman Chris Makokha highlighted that the new strategies aim to strengthen the party’s role not just internally but also in holding the Kenya Kwanza government accountable, particularly following the ODM’s shift into government roles.

Kennedy Mupalia, the newly appointed chairman, emphasized the youth’s commitment to increasing the party’s representation and influence in the upcoming general elections. He articulated a vision of not only expanding the party’s membership but also ensuring that its leaders are well-positioned to contribute effectively at various levels.

Mupalia also assured that the party is focused on enhancing the performance of the county government, stressing the need for accountability in the management of taxpayer resources and the delivery of government services.

With these changes, DAP-K Bungoma aims to reinvigorate its grassroots engagement and solidify its role in the political landscape of Bungoma County.

Ends.
