USAID AMPATH Uzima has donated medical equipment worth Sh30,256,754 to Trans Nzoia County, enhancing primary healthcare services and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Governor Natembeya, receiving the equipment at Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital, highlighted its critical timing for improving maternal and newborn health outcome.
Natembeya emphasized the equipment’s role in scaling up Maternities and Newborn Units, bringing health services closer to the people, and contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goal Three.

He expressed gratitude to USAID AMPATH Uzima, emphasizing the partnership’s impact on healthcare in Trans Nzoia County.
Prof. Sylvester Kimaiyo, Chief of Party, AMPATH, acknowledged the support from the American people, noting the donation’s significance in improving maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes.
The donation includes Neonatal Incubators, Operating Theatre Lights, Autoclave Machines, and more, aiming to enhance service delivery, reduce complications, and facilitate emergency obstetric and newborn care.

The collaborative effort aligns with the county’s vision of ensuring high-quality care for every pregnant woman and newborn.
County CEC Health, Dr. Joseph Wanjala Pepela, emphasized the county’s commitment to comprehensive health services, encompassing infrastructure, equipment, communication, and transport.
County Secretary Truphosa Amere expressed deep appreciation to AMPATH Uzima and the citizens of the United States for their transformative impact on residents’ access to quality healthcare services.
