KIMALEWA, Kenya
Bungoma Senator David Wakoli has launched a scathing public attack on local health administrators following revelations that public dispensaries in Kimalewa are distributing expired prescription drugs to unsuspecting patients.
The lawmaker shared evidence of outdated antibiotics and severely deteriorated medical supplies being handed out at sub-county clinics.
Wakoli demanded an immediate forensic investigation into Bungoma County’s health management, calling the distribution of expired pharmaceuticals a direct threat to human life.
“It is deeply disheartening to see the level of negligence in our county’s healthcare management,” said the Senate majority chief whip.”Today, I am sounding a major alarm on the state of Kimalewa Dispensary. Our people are going to seek treatment, only to be handed expired drugs and outdated antibiotics that have outlived their safety shelf life by years!”

The Bungoma Senator added that,”I have attached clear evidence of these expired medicines being distributed to unsuspecting patients. I demand an immediate, thorough forensic investigation into Bungoma County’s health management. The department heads must answer for this criminal negligence. We cannot sit back and watch the lives of our mothers, children, and youth being played with like guinea pigs,”said Senator Wakoli.
