Aisha Nabulo Mafabi, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer for the Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament seat, electrified the crowd at Mafudu Primary School on Sunday October 19

The rally blended grassroots mobilization,NRM national officials with the quiet blessing of political veterans.

Former Minister and Senior Presidential Advisor Beatrice Wabudeya attended the event but did not take the microphone — a gesture many interpreted as a silent endorsement of Mafabi’s leadership.

Her presence beside the youthful candidate symbolized a generational handover from one of Sironko’s political matriarchs to a rising daughter of the movement.

In her remarks, Mafabi called for unity, hard work, and service-oriented leadership.

“True leadership is about listening, serving, and delivering for everyone, not a select few,” she said, pledging to expand access to clean water, vocational skills and youth opportunities through her Asha Foundation.

The foundation has become known across Sironko for supporting teenage mothers, widows and youth with microfinance and farming initiatives.

Political analyst Joseph Mauso of Eastern Eye commended her approach, describing Mafabi as “a rare blend of youthful passion and tested community spirit.”

“Aisha Mafabi has managed to bridge the gap between politics and real service delivery,” Mauso said.

“Her work with women and youth isn’t just charity — it’s a blueprint for local transformation. You can see her projects changing lives, not just headlines.”

Mauso added that Mafabi’s unopposed nomination within the NRM reflects “a vote of confidence in her vision and credibility.”

“She represents the kind of leader Sironko has been waiting for — pragmatic, compassionate, and development-driven,” he said.

“Her brand of politics is less about slogans and more about solutions.”

Also addressing the rally, Hajji Sulaiman Lumolo Mafabi, the long-serving NRM District Chairperson and father to Aisha, urged residents to reject divisive politics and focus on unity and service delivery.

“Let us not sell our votes or our future for short-term gains,” Hajji Lumolo said.

“The NRM stands for stability, and through leaders like Aisha, we are building a Sironko where every citizen has access to opportunity.”

He warned against commercialization of politics, reminding the crowd that leadership “is not a business but a calling to serve.”

His remarks drew loud applause from supporters who echoed chants of “NRM oyee!” and “Mama Aisha for development!”

At the event, NRM officials reiterated calls for residents to rally behind President Yoweri Museveni for continuity and stability, linking Mafabi’s development focus with the broader national agenda.

As the 2026 election season gathers pace, Mafabi’s rally in Mafudu stands out as more than just a campaign stop.

It marked the emergence of a new generation of leaders in the ruling party — one that blends energy, empathy and experience under the watchful eyes of its political elders.
