Bungoma County Scholarship Program to Focus on Vulnerable Students, Governor Lusaka Vows.

GOVERNOR’S PRESS UNIT

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has emphasized that only students facing financial hardship will receive assistance through the County Scholarship program.

Speaking in Tembelela, Bukembe East ward, he strongly warned against bias during the vetting process.

“It is crucial to understand that only students demonstrating need and vulnerability will be granted scholarships,” Governor Lusaka declared sternly. “Any attempt to circumvent this meritocratic system will be met with appropriate consequences.”

He elaborated that the ongoing selection process will adhere to strict procedures to ensure no deserving student is overlooked.

“All applicants will be thoroughly evaluated to maintain the transparency and integrity of the program,” he stated.

Furthermore, Governor Lusaka encouraged women to form groups for economic empowerment.

“Investing in women’s empowerment is universally recognized as a powerful tool for community development,” he said. “I urge women to join forces and establish productive groups to strengthen their bargaining power.”

Governor Lusaka highlighted the importance of women utilizing available resources like the Women Empowerment Funds and encouraged them to begin planning for the upcoming County trade loan distribution.

“We will soon be launching the County trade loan program. I urge you to formulate sound plans to make the most of this opportunity,” he noted.

To demonstrate his commitment, Governor Lusaka personally contributed KSh.300,000 to the Bukembe East Lioness empowerment fund.
