BUNGOMA, Kenya —IP
Gubernatorial aspirant Jim Nduruchi marked this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations with a bold statement of intent, launching two key community projects aimed at transforming Bungoma County’s economic and social fabric.
Speaking during the celebrations on Friday, Nduruchi unveiled a mineral water production initiative through a locally run cottage industry, as well as a football tournament in Webuye West — both projects aligned with his 10-point agenda to uplift the county.
The mineral water project, established through a strategic partnership, is expected to create employment for youth and boost small-scale manufacturing in the region.
Nduruchi hailed the initiative as a turning point for Bungoma’s economy.
“This project is about dignity and opportunity,” he said. “We are turning natural resources into jobs and hope for our young people.”
At the same event, Nduruchi launched a football tournament and donated sports equipment to local teams.
He also announced plans to open a soccer academy aimed at nurturing talent and offering pathways to professional opportunities, both locally and abroad.
“Our youth are talented and determined. With the right support, sports can be a real driver of development and employment,” he said.
Nduruchi urged young people to actively engage in programs that can change their lives, promising to open more opportunities through partnerships and international investment if elected governor.
“I’m committed to bringing investors into Bungoma,” he said. “With the networks I’ve built globally, we can unlock opportunities that have long been denied to this county.”
His remarks also included a strong critique of the current political leadership, calling for a shift from what he described as “empty promises and resource plunder” to visionary, accountable governance.
“Bungoma needs leadership that serves the people — not protects cartels,” he told a cheering crowd. “We have to break the cycle of politics that enriches a few while the majority suffer.”
Nduruchi’s growing popularity and issue-based campaign have begun to unsettle the political establishment in Bungoma.
His entrance into the race is being closely watched by political observers and voters alike, with many describing him as a credible alternative to traditional political figures.
His 10-point agenda, which emphasizes youth empowerment, industrial growth, transparent governance, and community-based development, has resonated strongly, especially among the youth and grassroots communities.
As the 2027 elections approach, Nduruchi is fast emerging as a serious contender — and a man with a plan.
“This is not just a campaign,” he said. “It’s a movement to reclaim the dreams of Bungoma County.”
