Senator Wakoli in action against Burundi .

Today, Team Kenya secured a decisive 64-37 win against Burundi in the men’s basketball match at the KPA Makupa Sports Ground in Mombasa during the 14th East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games.
Senator Wafula Wakoli of Bungoma County shone with an exceptional performance, scoring 18 points and earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title for the match.
Expressing his gratitude, Wakoli highlighted the victory as a testament to “teamwork, determination, and athleticism.”
He praised his teammates, the technical staff, and the fervent support from the fans.
“I am deeply humbled to receive the MVP recognition,” Wakoli stated. “This achievement is shared with my teammates, coaches, and the supporters who brought electrifying energy to the game.”
The senator reaffirmed his commitment to promoting sports in Bungoma County by announcing the Basketball Tournament 2024, scheduled for December 21-22 at Bungoma High School.
This event aims to provide young athletes with a platform to develop and showcase their talents.
Looking ahead, Wakoli called on fans to rally behind Team Kenya as they prepare to face Uganda in their next matchup, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to defend their title and make the nation proud.
