Fresh from breaking the 600m world record, Mary Moraa has humorously embarked on a new quest: finding a yacht to purchase. The Olympic 800m bronze medalist, who recently clocked a remarkable 1:21.63 in Berlin, now faces a rather unusual challenge—finding a marina in her hometown of Kisii, which is devoid of any large bodies of water.
Despite her extraordinary achievement on the track, Moraa’s latest venture has raised eyebrows and sparked laughter. “I’m looking for a yacht to buy here overseas… but back home in Kisii, we don’t have a lake or sea 🤣🤣🤣,” she posted on Facebook, capturing her playful spirit and the geographical irony of her situation.
The Kisii region, known for its lush landscapes and rolling hills, is notably lacking in large water bodies that could accommodate a yacht. This geographical peculiarity has not dampened Moraa’s enthusiasm or sense of humor. Her post has triggered a flurry of amused and puzzled reactions from fans.
As the news of her yacht hunt spreads, fans have taken to social media with creative suggestions. Some have joked about turning the yacht into a high-altitude training center: “Maybe she plans to convert it into a high-altitude training center—innovative, right?” Another fan proposed transforming the yacht into a tourist attraction: “The Kisii Yacht Experience—see it to believe it!”
Moraa’s vibrant personality and unique celebrations have only added to the charm of this story. Known as the ‘Dancing Queen’ of athletics, she might just turn her yacht into an unconventional dance floor. As one fan quipped, “If there’s no water, we dance,” suggesting that the yacht could host a disco under the Kisii sun or stars.
Mary Moraa’s adventures, both on and off the track, continue to captivate her audience. While the search for a marina in Kisii may be in vain, her journey remains as engaging and entertaining as her athletic feats.
