The organizers of the Western Cancer Survivors Trade Expo are calling on partners assistance to make the day a success.

Bungoma county in collaboration with Better World Cancer Organization will be hosting the 1st Western Cancer Survivors Trade Expo as a climax of the Breast cancer awareness month on the 27th October 2023 at Posta grounds in Bungoma town.
Esther Andare the managing director of the Better World Cancer Organization says, the day will be made a success with the availability of partners.

“We have identified 600 cancer survivors in six sub counties of Bungoma County who be grouped into camps and will participate in the expo and showcase their wares to attendees who will in turn purchase them for sell sustainability,” said Andare.
Cancer is the third leading cause of death in Kenya, with Breast cancer being amongst the leading types of Cancer affecting women.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are focusing on a multi-sectoral collaboration to raise awareness levels in the County.

“During the expo, the organization will be mobilizing resources, package for them, buy lunch for them and offer transport for self reliance,” she said.
The attendees will be buying lunch for a survivor where a plate goes for Sh4,000 and Transport for a survivor Sh1,000.
