SIRISIA, Kenya
Sirisia United Opposition Parliamentary aspirant Hon. Moses Waliaula has issued a scathing statement condemning incumbent Member of Parliament John Waluke for a decade of developmental neglect, stagnant infrastructure and collapsing academic standards across Sirisia constituency.
Waliaula criticized Waluke’s leadership style, stating that despite the incumbent’s persistent claims of being well-positioned within the government, the constituency has nothing to show for it.
The statement directly called out the poor state of critical infrastructure and a lack of economic foresight while acknowledging other political rivals entering the race.
“While other government-friendly leaders are successfully lobbying for multi-million shilling projects for their sub-counties, Sirisia is being left behind in total darkness,” Waliaula said. “Our main tarmac road from Chwele to Lwakhakha is now a death trap, completely full of deep potholes that continue to cause fatal accidents. Yet, our current MP remains silent.”
The statement highlighted a string of stalled initiatives and economic failures under the current administration, specifically targeting:
The Bisunu–Sirisia Road:
A vital economic artery for local commerce that remains completely stalled, cutting off local markets.
Lack of Local Industry:
A total absence of light industries or value-addition factories to create jobs for the soaring number of unemployed youth.
Underdeveloped Markets:
Sirisia center—the very home region of MP Waluke—still lacks a modern, proper market infrastructure for traders.
Failing Education Standards:
A sharp decline in local academic performance, with the majority of public schools posting dismal results in national examinations.
Waliaula extended his criticism to his electoral opponents, warning voters that alternative candidates lack the comprehensive strategy needed to fix the constituency’s deep-rooted issues.
“We cannot replace failure with more of the same,” Waliaula warned. “Our opponent(Waluke)offers no tangible blueprints to rescue our collapsing institutions. A vote for Waluke is a vote for continued stagnation, while a vote for my other competitors is a gamble with our children’s future.”
Waliaula concluded by promising that his incoming platform will prioritize the immediate rehabilitation of the Chwele-Lwakhakha/Mayanja-Bisunu -Sirisia roads to AI bituminous standards, the establishment of agricultural processing plants and a complete overhaul of the local education bursary system to boost performance.
Other candidates who declared their interest in the parliarmentary seat are Lwandanyi MCA Tony Barasa,Technocrat Kasembeli Nasiuma,Engineer Malaba Keya and Leonard Ndalila .
