Former Kakamega Green Commandos head coach Jairus Amayamu has exuded confidence Kaibos Secondary School will qualify for regional of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba after emerging sub county champions last weekend.

Kaibos, which is under the tutelage of Amayamu, stormed the West Pokot County finals after beating Division two side Pkomo FC on post-match penalties at Makutano Stadium.

The two teams had drawn 1-1 in regulation time with Paul Poghisho, putting Kaibos ahead after 30 minutes.
With just two minutes to the end of the game, Pkomo struck an equalizer to take the game into penalty shoot-out, which they lost 3-4.

Antony Wafula , Andrew Kiech , Brian Mwetich , Brian Kipchumba netted for Kaibos with Kelvin Simiyu missing the target.
The hard fought victory saw Kaibos qualify for county finals set for 14th October, 2023. They will play defending champions Kapenguria Heroes.

Coach Amayamu said he has instructed his players to be focused during the finals, claiming that Kapenguria Heroes will play under pressure.
“I have also instructed my boys to take care of Kapenguria Heroes captain Gregory Kaira, my former student at Karenger School . I’m confident I will qualify for the regional finals,” he said.
Amayamu led Green Commandos to five victories in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association national football championships. Commandos have won a total of 13 titles in the national school games.
