Bungoma Senator CBS David Wakoli has said that bad manners, theft and corruption have no expiry date and must be confronted consistently and without apology.
During an oversight visit to Butieli Dispensary in Tuuti Marakaru Ward, Kanduyi Constituency, the Senator engaged health workers, inspected infrastructure and met residents who raised concerns about the state of the facility.
He observed that despite the dedication of frontline health workers, the dispensary faces serious structural and operational challenges.
These include a maternity wing that has stalled for years, unreliable water supply, visible roof damage caused by leakage, staff shortages and lack of a secure perimeter fence.
Wakoli stated that these were not political allegations but verifiable facts witnessed on the ground.
He noted that dismissing such concerns as propaganda or a witch-hunt does not address the realities faced by patients and healthcare providers.
The Senator emphasized that the County Government under Governor Kenneth Lusaka must prioritize service delivery and ensure public funds translate into tangible improvements in health facilities, classrooms and vocational institutions.
He further cited a pattern of stalled ECDE projects, concerns over serial contracting, struggling vocational training centers and infrastructure projects that fail to deliver long-term value to residents.
According to Wakoli, leadership must be measured by responsibility and results.
He maintained that oversight is not harassment but a constitutional mandate, and affirmed that he will continue documenting concerns and engaging relevant oversight institutions.
Wakoli reiterated that service delivery is not a favor extended to citizens but a constitutional right, and that accountability must remain non-negotiable.
