Former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Jubilee party chairman Nelson Dzuya have secured new state appointments in the latest round of state appointments.
Wangamati, who served as the second Bungoma Governor, has been appointed to chair the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees. His appointment was made by Treasury CS Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, and he will serve in this role for a period of three years, starting from June 7, 2024.
“The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati to be the Chairperson of the Public Service Superannuation Fund Board of Trustees, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th June, 2024,” the gazette notice reads.
In a separate appointment, CS for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Salim Mvurya has appointed Nelson Dzuya as a member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. Dzuya will also serve a three-year term starting from June 7, 2024.
“The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs appoints Nelson Dzuya to be a member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th June, 2024,” states the official announcement.
Dzuya, the Jubilee party chairman, had previously been appointed by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki as a member of the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Board in October last year.
These appointments reflect the ongoing reorganization and strengthening of various state boards and institutions.
