National Assembly Speaker Dr. Moses Masika Wetang’ula has revealed transformative development projects targeting Bungoma County.

Speaking to mourners during the funeral of Rev. Francis Wafula Walusaka in Luanda, West Sang’alo Ward, on Saturday.Dr. Wetang’ula outlined plans to construct five new bridges within Kanduyi Constituency, a move aimed at improving connectivity between wards.

He assured the audience that funding for these projects had already been secured.

In addition, the government has pledged KSh 4 billion to electrify villages across Bungoma County.

The electrification program is anticipated to drive economic growth, enhance access to services, and uplift living standards in the region.

Dr. Wetang’ula paid tribute to Rev. Walusaka’s legacy, highlighting his instrumental role in translating the Bible into the Bukusu language.

Rev. Walusaka also gained national recognition in 2010 for identifying a critical translation error in Kenya’s national anthem.

A former Ford Kenya-elected councillor during Kenya’s second liberation era, Rev. Walusaka played a pivotal role under the leadership of the late Vice President Michael Wamalwa Kijana.

He later transitioned to a life of ministry, serving the church until his passing.
