Glowing tributes and heartfelt messages dominated Friday’s farewell ceremony at Orero Boys Senior School as education stakeholders, political leaders, teachers, parents, alumni and members of the local community gathered to celebrate the retirement of Chief Principal Dickens Bula after years of distinguished service.
The colourful ceremony brought together school principals from across the region, the Board of Management, the Orero Boys Alumni, Oriwo Boys Alumni, students and invited guests, all united in honouring a man widely credited with transforming the institution through visionary leadership, discipline and academic excellence.
Speaker after speaker praised Mr. Bula’s unwavering commitment to education, describing him as an exemplary administrator, mentor and servant leader whose impact extended far beyond the classroom. They commended his dedication to nurturing learners, empowering teachers and fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.
Members of the Board of Management hailed Mr. Bula for providing steady and visionary leadership that strengthened governance, expanded the school’s infrastructure and enhanced academic performance. They said his commitment to transparency, accountability and teamwork had positioned Orero Boys Senior School among the region’s leading institutions.
School principals who worked closely with the retiring educationist described him as a dependable colleague and a respected mentor who freely shared his knowledge and experience. They noted that his passion for quality education and his willingness to support fellow school heads had earned him admiration across the education sector.
Teachers paid glowing tribute to their outgoing chief principal, saying his leadership inspired professionalism, teamwork and dedication among members of staff. They praised his open-door leadership style, fairness in decision-making and unwavering support for both teachers and learners.
