Kimilili parliamentary aspirant Masinde Nguti has dismissed recent opinion polls ranking various contenders in the constituency, terming them misleading and lacking credibility.
Speaking to residents during a public engagement forum in Kimilili, Nguti argued that the surveys do not reflect the true political mood on the ground, insisting that wananchi will ultimately determine the constituency’s leadership through the ballot.
He claimed that some of the polls were being sponsored to create a false perception among voters ahead of the forthcoming political campaigns.
According to the aspirant, his support base across the constituency continues to grow steadily due to his close engagement with residents and his development-oriented agenda.
Nguti said he remains confident of winning the Kimilili parliamentary seat, adding that his focus is on grassroots mobilisation rather than media-generated rankings.
He urged supporters not to be distracted by what he described as “manufactured figures,” maintaining that the voice of the electorate cannot be replaced by opinion surveys.
The aspirant further called for peaceful and issue-based politics, urging fellow contenders to focus on presenting their development plans to the people instead of relying on propaganda and political intimidation.
Political activities in Kimilili constituency have continued to intensify as aspirants position themselves ahead of the next General Election, with opinion polls increasingly becoming part of the growing political debate.
