Umukuka Gifts iPads to Bugisu LC5 Chairpersons-Elect to Boost Digital Governance

MBALE, Uganda (IP)

The cultural leader of the Bamasaba people, Umukuka wa Bugisu III Jude Mike Mudoma, has gifted iPads to newly elected Local Council Five (LC5) chairpersons in the Bugisu sub-region in a move aimed at promoting digital governance and improving service delivery.

During a meeting with the leaders, the Umukuka presented the devices to the district chairpersons-elect from across Bugisu, encouraging them to embrace technology in managing public affairs and communication with residents.

Mudoma said the gadgets are meant to help leaders access information quickly, improve record keeping and enhance coordination among district administrations.

He urged the incoming leaders to use the devices responsibly and focus on development programs that benefit local communities.

The chairpersons-elect welcomed the initiative, saying the devices would help modernize their work and improve efficiency in delivering services to residents in eastern Uganda.

Bugisu, largely inhabited by the Bamasaba community, comprises several districts including Mbale, Bududa, Manafwa, Sironko and Namisindwa.

The cultural institution has in recent years promoted initiatives aimed at strengthening leadership and development within the region.
