Kenya’s Leaders Mourn Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno After Fatal Helicopter Crash

NAIROBI, Kenya (IP)

 

 Kenya’s political leadership expressed shock and sorrow following the death of Johana Ng’eno, Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, who died in a helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County.

President William Ruto said he received the news with “profound shock and deep sadness,” describing Ng’eno as a progressive and devoted servant of the people who worked tirelessly for his constituents.

Ruto said the country had lost a focused and courageous leader committed to justice and equity, and extended condolences to the families of all the victims.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki termed the tragedy devastating, paying tribute to Ng’eno as a dear friend, courageous leader and committed party member.

He said his thoughts and prayers are with the family and residents of Emurua Dikirr.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula said he was deeply devastated by the MP’s passing and conveyed condolences on behalf of the Parliamentary Service Commission and the House.

He described Ng’eno as an astute and fierce leader who strongly defended the interests of his people.

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi said the Senate was shocked and saddened by the loss, remembering Ng’eno as a humble and seasoned politician who served with zeal and commitment.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi also mourned the legislator, describing him as bold, articulate and steadfast in advancing national unity and development.

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka termed the incident tragic and heartbreaking, saying Ng’eno’s contribution to parliamentary debate and constituency development would not be forgotten.

In a separate message, Bungoma Senator David Wakoli said:

“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of my colleague, Johana Ng’eno, Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, following a helicopter crash this evening.

Hon. Ng’eno was a fearless and bold leader who stood firm for his people and spoke with courage in defense of our nation. Kenya has lost a gallant son and a strong voice of reason.

My heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of Emurua Dikirr, and all who mourn him.

May God grant them strength during this difficult time.”

Leaders across the political divide continued to send messages of condolence as investigations into the cause of the crash got underway.
