Mutu Kazi founder Bernard Waliuba is emerging as an energetic grassroots mobilizer, blending philanthropy with political messaging as he publicly aligns himself with the government’s development agenda and calls for support to secure a second term.

Waliuba has recently been on the move across western Kenya, organizing community activities including a border run and a fundraising initiative linked to the Tommy Foundation, aimed at supporting vulnerable children in Sirisia Constituency to access equal opportunities in education.

In a  telephone conversation with the IP,Waliuba said the initiative reflects a broader philosophy of leadership rooted in action rather than rhetoric.

“This is about giving every child a fair starting point,” he said. “Education is the foundation of empowerment, and communities must step in where gaps exist.”

Buoyed by what he described as visible progress under the current administration, Waliuba said his support for the government is driven by delivery on key manifesto pledges.

Mutu Kazi believes continuity in leadership is essential to fast-track and fully realize the government’s development agenda, noting that some flagship projects require more than a single presidential term to complete.

He warned that frequent political transitions often lead to abandoned projects, as incoming administrations distance themselves from initiatives branded as belonging to “past regimes,” despite being funded by taxpayers.

Waliuba welcomed President William Ruto’s commitment to completing projects left midway by previous governments, saying the approach is critical to sustaining development, expanding business opportunities and creating direct employment for Kenyans.

“Figures don’t lie,” he said, urging Kenyans from all walks of life to objectively assess the government’s performance based on facts rather than political inclination.

He added that much of the criticism directed at development programs stems from ignorance, even when the data is publicly available.

He cited reforms in agriculture, saying policies have begun to make farming more productive and profitable for ordinary households.

He also pointed to the affordable housing program, arguing it has shifted home ownership from a distant dream to a practical reality for low-income earners.

“For the first time, Kenyans at the lowest cadre can realistically talk about owning a home,” Waliuba said.

In education, Waliuba highlighted the employment of thousands of teachers, construction of new classrooms and the implementation of a 100 percent transition to Grade 10 as evidence of systemic investment in the future workforce.

“When you employ teachers and build classrooms, you are not just fixing today’s problems — you are shaping tomorrow’s leaders,” he said.

Waliuba said the combination of infrastructure development, job creation and skills empowerment makes a compelling case for continuity in government.

“There is no doubt in my mind that we need to open our eyes and be part of a winning team,” he said. “A team focused on development, on nurturing leadership, and on empowering Kenyans economically.”

He urged citizens to look beyond political noise and assess progress through tangible outcomes, saying sustained public backing would be critical to locking in gains and expanding opportunities nationwide.

As he launched the Mutu Kazi.com platform, Mabonga said he had no doubt the country was on the right path, urging Kenyans to “board the journey” toward a Singapore-style future.

He called on citizens to actively participate in national development, learning and empowerment, saying unity and team-building would be critical in transforming Kenya into a shared haven of opportunity for all.
