Namagara Secondary School in Kakamega County has captured hearts and minds after emerging position one in Kakamega North Sub-county in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
The school recorded a mean score of 7.4231, with 179 students qualifying for university, a remarkable achievement that tells a story of resilience, teamwork, and focused determination.
Behind these results is the leadership of Principal Judith Luvaha, who believes that success is built on teamwork, discipline, and the support of a committed Board of Management.
“This result is not just a number. It is the outcome of collective effort, sacrifice, and the unwavering belief that our students can achieve greatness,” she said.
The journey to the top was not without challenges.
Like many schools, Namagara faced hurdles of limited resources and high expectations.
But Principal Luvaha and her team refused to let circumstances define their destiny.
She empowered departmental heads to take critical decisions, introduced focused revision programmes and instilled a culture where every teacher, parent and student worked as one family.
Discipline was at the core of the school’s success.
Students were encouraged to embrace responsibility, manage their time wisely and approach learning with seriousness.
“When discipline meets determination, the impossible becomes possible,” Principal Luvaha emphasized.
The 179 students who will now pursue university education are living proof that dreams can be realized through effort and perseverance.
Their success is a message to learners everywhere: no matter your background or the challenges you face, focus, teamwork and discipline can open doors to unimaginable opportunities.
Parents, teachers, and education stakeholders have hailed Namagara’s results as a shining example of what happens when a school community unites behind a common goal.
Principal Luvaha sees the achievement not as an endpoint, but as motivation for the future.
“We have set a benchmark, but the journey continues. Our next candidates can aim even higher if they remain committed and disciplined,” she said.
Namagara Secondary School’s story is more than academic excellence; it is a story of hope, courage and the power of collective effort.
It reminds us that with vision, teamwork and persistence, obstacles can be overcome, dreams can be achieved and greatness can be reached.
