Senator David Wakoli on Wednesday led a team of Ford Kenya leaders to Chwele/Kabuchai Ward in Kabuchai Constituency, where aspirant Hon. Vincent Maunda officially presented his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the upcoming by-election.
Wakoli was accompanied by Ford Kenya Secretary General and Tongaren MP Murumba Chikati, Ford Kenya Chairman and West Nalondo MCA Polycarp Wandabusi, alongside several Ford Kenya MCAs and party officials, in a show of unity and solidarity for the party’s candidate.
“I take this opportunity to wish Hon. Vincent Maunda the very best of luck in the upcoming by-elections,” Senator Wakoli said. “As the Ford Kenya Party, we remain committed to strengthening democracy by encouraging all candidates to conduct their campaigns peacefully, responsibly, and with utmost respect for the will of the people.”
The senator emphasized that peaceful campaigns are the foundation of a thriving democracy and called on all political players to avoid divisive politics.
“Kabuchai deserves leaders who put the people first,” he said. “Through unity, integrity, and peace, we shall deliver a leadership that truly serves the people.”
Wakoli’s message comes as the by-election season heats up, with political parties rallying support across Bungoma County.
Ford Kenya, under the leadership of Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, has vowed to maintain its stronghold in the region through peaceful, issue-based campaigns.
