Vincent Maunda has secured the Ford Kenya party ticket for the Chwele Kabuchai Ward seat after edging out his closest rival in a tense delegates’ vote.
Maunda garnered 26 votes, beating his opponent who received 20, according to official results released by the party.
The nomination sets him up as Ford Kenya’s flagbearer in the upcoming ward elections.
Speaking after the win, Maunda thanked delegates for their confidence and vowed to prioritize grassroots development and inclusive leadership.
“I will not let you down. This is a victory for all of Chwele Kabuchai, and together we will move forward,” he said.
Party officials described the exercise as transparent and orderly saying the outcome reflects the will of the delegates.
Ford Kenya, a key partner in the Kenya Kwanza coalition, has been seeking to consolidate its support base in Bungoma County ahead of the next electoral cycle.
