Itumbi state house bloggers and ‘rift valley wheel dealers’ are the reasons behind the rift between President Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Gilbert Kiptalam,a close aidee of deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that his boss has been a constant recipient of bullying behavior from state house bloggers directed by State house digital strategist ,Dennis Itumbi.
Itumbi a close ally of ‘rift valley mafia’,Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro,Majority leader Kimani Ichungwa,Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and other Kenya Kwanza ‘young turks’ who are said to be against the DPs ‘autocratic’ leadership are bosom friends of President William Ruto are championing for the impeachment of the DP before tge end of the year.
The young turks opposed to the DP in Mt Kenya have a tight network with state house mandarins close to the President led by Faruk Kibet ,Oscar Sudi and CS for Roads,Transport and Public Works , Kipchumba Murkomen.
Kiptalam aka Malema alleged that Itumbi’s group which posts President Ruto’s content have been avoiding to post content of deputy President Gachagua since 2022.
Embakasi North MP James Mwangi Gakuya claimed that Itumbi is part of a clique of young politicians from Mt Kenya burning the mid night oil to ensure Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro replaces Deputy President Gachagua as the Mt Kenya kingpin.
Gakuya is a close ally of Gachagua who is said to be going for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat held by Governor Sakaja a close ally of the President.
“I wonder where the Kiharu MP wants to run for President in 2027 or why he is engaging in early campaigns?” Said Gakuya.
On Friday May 24 2024 the Deputy President met Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, a close ally of the President in an attempt to reduce political tension amongst the UDA supporters.
Gachagua’s political fights don’t end with Itumbi but the self proclaimed Mt Kenya kingpin is facing serious political wars from all political fronts in his backyard and beyond Mt Kenya region.
Gachagua is said to be establishing networks in Western Kenya to bring down Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Moses Wetang’ula and his Kenya Kwanza counetrpart Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi.
Gachagua is said to be agitating for dissolving Kenya Kwanza coalition parties to strengthen United Democratic party (UDA) to solidify his position as the lead Presidential candidate in 2032.
“Once other political parties are disdolved,Gachagua will force other coalition principals to join his UDA movement or face politucal ‘death’,” said a Ford Kenya top politician who sort anonimity.
The other opponents of the DP who have declared their interest to succeed President Ruto include C.S.for Public service,performance and management Moses Kuria,former Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth ,Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua and a host of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies.
Gachagua has also been accused of creating a war front in Western Kenya through former Kakamega Senator Cleophus Malala to destabilize politically Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Prime Cabinet secretary and C.S . for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi ahead of 2032.
“He is worried about the impact of Luhyia unity after 2027 and that’s why he is using UDA secretary General Cleophus Malala and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya to divide the Western block,” said Phillip Wekesa Wanyonyi ,Executive director for Citizen Coalition for good Governance.
According to Wanyonyi ,Gachagua is behind UDA Secretary general Cleophus Malala’s push for the dissolution of Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya and Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC parties.
“Once Ford Kenya and ANC are dissolved, Gachagua will have a field day controlling Western Kenya through Malala and DAP K through his former colleague in the provincial administration George Natembeya,” Wanyonyi added.
Gachagua has also been silently opposed to Raila Odinga’s AU commission chairperson candidature.
