GOVERNOR’S PRESS UNIT
Governor Kenneth Lusaka has emphasized the need for parents and guardians to take responsibility for their children’s upbringing.

Speaking during the unveiling of the County Scholarship 2024 cohort at St. Luke’s Boys Kimilili, Lusaka urged parents to be vigilant and actively involved in their kids’ lives to address the escalating cases of teen pregnancies in the county.

Expressing concern over the county’s negative publicity, he stressed that parents should play a crucial role in monitoring and setting examples for their children.

The Ksh250 million program aims to support 540 students from all 45 wards in the county, with an additional disbursement of 180 million Shillings allocated to wards for bursaries, equating to 4 million each.

The event saw the presence of Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, Education and VTC CECM David Wamalili, as well as MCAs, COs, beneficiaries, and their parents.
