Thieves Break Into ACK Korisai Vicar’s Residence In Malaba Municipality

By Reuben Olita

Unknown number of thieves on Tuesday night broke into the residence of the vicar in charge of the Anglican Church of Kenya Korisai Parish, Katakwa Diocese, stealing church property worth over Ksh70,000.

Addressing the press in Amagoro today, Reverend Peter Muzungu of Korisai Parish said among the stolen items included a keyboard worth Ksh60,000, two microphones worth Ksh6000 and a ball worth Ksh6,000.

Rev Muzungu said Christians this Sunday will pray without entertainment owing to the barbaric act by thugs who have no respect for their Creator. He appealed to the government to intensify patrols and bring the perpetrators of those heinous acts to book.

“The ball is printed KORISAI, and which cannot be erased. Anyone out there who will come across this ball should report to relevant authorities to apprehend those calpable,” he said.

Rev Muzungu regretted the rising insecurity in the area, noting that thugs recently broke into God’s Narture Church and stole a keyboard. They also broke into Korisai school with intend to steal computers, but it proved futile.

” With these spates of robberies including the residence of an assistant chief, there is need by the government to provide around the clock security as we also pray for those who engage in acts of lawlessness to repent ” he said.

He added: ” The government should have no mercy on such perpetrators. They should be put behind bars and, if possible, sentence them to life imprisonment since they have failed to be good Christians.

Rev Muzungu blamed spates of insecurity to idle youth who engage in activities like pool game with no source of income, and yet they pay to play the game, eat, and drink, noting that such activities are questionable.

He said ACK Church is engaged in promoting youth activities by organising interchurches and interschool competitions to bring the youths together instead of allowing them to engage in illicit activities.
