This past weekend, socialite Vera Sidika took a moment to reflect on her journey through love and marriage, sharing a revealing clip from an old interview where she vehemently opposed the concept of marriage—a stark contrast to her later decision to wed singer Brown Mauzo.
In the interview, Vera declared with conviction that marriage was not for her. Fast forward to the COVID-19 pandemic, when an unexpected romance blossomed between her and Brown Mauzo. The couple married and welcomed two children together. However, their union came to an end in August 2023, following a mutual decision to part ways.
Vera’s recent reflections on her past choices highlight a dramatic shift in her perspective. She openly admits her changed views on marriage, now describing it as a “scam” in a candid social media post.
“This was 8 years ago. I always said I never wanted to get married. Don’t know what happened during COVID-19, but I’ve been there, and trust me: marriage is a scam! Never again!” Vera wrote.
In contrast, Brown Mauzo seems to have moved on and is exploring new possibilities for his future. Recently, he celebrated his one-year anniversary with his partner Kabinga and hinted at the prospect of marriage once more.
“This angel is giving me vibes to marry again. I confirm, let’s have a big ceremony soon. Your prayers,” he posted, accompanied by a photo of Kabinga in a striking red dress.
Mauzo also shared the R&B classic “I Can Love You Like That” by All 4 One, quoting lyrics about finding a fairytale romance, suggesting a hopeful outlook on love and commitment.
As Vera and Brown Mauzo navigate their separate paths, their experiences highlight the complex and often unpredictable nature of love and relationships.
