BUNGOMA, Kenya
Bungoma County Gov. Kenneth Lusaka has distributed modern training equipment to Lwandanyi and St. Nicholas Machakha Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) as part of a county initiative to strengthen technical education.
The investment aims to improve practical skills acquisition, equip local youth with industry-relevant competencies and prepare them for employment and entrepreneurship.
“VTCs are key to nurturing a skilled and self-reliant workforce,” Lusaka said. He noted that the newly provided tools will enhance hands-on training and open up more professional opportunities for young people across the county.

The administration’s broader development strategy for Bungoma prioritizes market-driven technical training to reduce youth unemployment and drive regional economic growth.
“The investment will modernize the workshops and allow students to train with industry-standard machinery,”added Eng. Agnes Wachie,the CECM for Education and Vocational Training.
The governor was also accompanied by Lwandanyi MCA Tony Barasa,Chief Officer Everlyne Wekesa,nominated MCA Mildred Barasa and other county top officials.
