A remarkable story of resilience, vision, and steady academic growth continues to unfold at ACK St. Matthews Ituti Senior School, with the institution now emerging as one of the region’s fast-rising centres of learning after growing from only 20 students to a population of more than 500 learners.
The school’s inspiring transformation took centre stage during a Thanksgiving Service held at the school grounds, bringing together church leaders, education stakeholders, parents, teachers, alumni, and students in celebration of the institution’s journey since its establishment in 2011.
The service was officiated by Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, who praised the school for maintaining strong moral values, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
However, much of the praise during the ceremony was directed toward School Principal Edwin Amariati, with stakeholders crediting his leadership, determination, and strategic vision for the school’s remarkable turnaround.
Speaking during the event, Principal Amariati recounted the institution’s humble beginnings, noting that the school started with only 20 students amid numerous operational and financial challenges.
“We believed the school had potential to become a centre of excellence despite the challenges we faced in the early years. Through commitment, teamwork, discipline, and God’s grace, we remained focused on building a strong institution for the future,” said Amariati.
Under his stewardship, the school has reportedly witnessed significant improvements in academic management, student discipline, infrastructure expansion, mentorship programmes, and co-curricular activities—factors that have steadily enhanced the institution’s reputation and attracted increasing enrollment.
Education stakeholders attending the thanksgiving ceremony described Amariati as a transformational and results-oriented administrator whose leadership has restored confidence among parents and repositioned the school on a progressive academic path.
Parents lauded the principal for creating a stable and learner-focused environment, noting that his administration has emphasized academic consistency, teacher motivation, and holistic student development.
Some stakeholders observed that the institution’s rapid growth from a small struggling school into a competitive learning centre reflects strong leadership and effective management structures championed by the principal.
Bishop Okeno also commended the school administration for its commitment to nurturing responsible and disciplined learners, urging students to remain focused on their studies and uphold integrity.
The colourful thanksgiving ceremony featured prayers, worship sessions, and celebrations reflecting gratitude for the milestones achieved over the years.
With enrollment continuing to rise and the institution steadily strengthening its academic profile, ACK St. Matthews Ituti Senior School is increasingly establishing itself as a beacon of quality education—driven by visionary leadership and a shared commitment to excellence.
