When Mr. Dickens Bula quietly handed over the instruments of leadership and stepped into retirement last month at Orero Boys High School, he left behind more than an office.

He left behind memories, values and a legacy that numbers alone cannot measure.

Having previously served as Principal of Oriwo Boys High School before his transfer to Orero Boys, Mr. Bula’s career was a journey of service, sacrifice and steadfast belief in the power of education to change lives.

For many students, teachers and parents, his name became synonymous with hope, discipline and the promise of a better tomorrow.

At Oriwo Boys, Mr. Bula walked into a school full of potential and turned it into a home of purpose.

He believed in boys who doubted themselves, challenged teachers to give their best even when resources were limited, and reminded parents that education was a shared responsibility.

Under his leadership, the school did not only rise academically—it found its soul. Classrooms became spaces of belief, and results became reflections of hard work and unity.

His transfer to Orero Boys High School marked the final chapter of his long service, but not a slowing of his passion.

There, he brought calm, direction and renewed confidence.
