Kimilili Constituency’s 2027 parliamentary race continues to take shape, with Masinde Nguti reaffirming his bid for the seat, which he declared two years ago, and renewing his promise to transform the constituency if elected.
Nguti, who made his intentions public early, says his early declaration was deliberate, giving him ample time to engage residents, understand grassroots challenges and craft a people-driven development agenda.
He maintains that Kimilili requires consistent leadership planning rather than last-minute political mobilization.
Since declaring his bid, Nguti has steadily built his profile across the constituency, holding consultations with community leaders, youth groups and women’s organisations.
He says these engagements have helped shape his priorities, which include education support, improved infrastructure and expanded economic opportunities.
Education remains central to his campaign message. Nguti has pledged to strengthen bursary schemes and push for increased investment in learning institutions to ensure children from vulnerable families remain in school.
On infrastructure, he says better roads and public amenities are key to unlocking Kimilili’s agricultural and commercial potential.
The aspirant has also placed strong emphasis on youth empowerment, noting that unemployment and underemployment continue to frustrate many young people.
He has vowed to champion skills training, entrepreneurship and access to funding, arguing that empowering youth is essential for sustainable development.
Politically, Nguti has cast himself as an accessible and accountable leader, promising regular engagement with constituents and firm representation of Kimilili’s interests in Parliament.
He has criticised what he describes as leadership that goes silent after elections, saying his approach will be rooted in service and transparency.
As the 2027 General Election approaches, Nguti’s early entry into the race has given him a head start in consolidating support and refining his message.
With the contest expected to intensify, Kimilili voters will be closely watching how aspirants translate promises into trust and credibility.
For Masinde Nguti, the campaign narrative remains unchanged since his declaration two years ago: a commitment to transform Kimilili through focused leadership, inclusive development and unwavering accountability.
