The WAKS TALANTA EXPO Technical Team, led by MC Opash, conducted a successful tour of the proposed venues for the upcoming WAKS Talanta Expo.
The team visited Bungoma High School(above), St. Luke’s Kimilili Boys, and Reliance High School in Webuye Town, where they held fruitful engagements with key stakeholders to fine-tune plans for this major youth-focused event.

Senator David Wakoli has announced the rollout of the inaugural WAKS Talanta Expo auditions, a three-day talent search aimed at identifying and nurturing young creatives across Bungoma County.
The auditions will run from Dec. 29 to Dec. 31, 2025, ahead of a Grand Finale scheduled for Jan. 3, 2026, bringing together performers in rap, singing, dance, spoken word and comedy.
According to the program, the auditions will be held at three venues covering multiple subcounties.
On Dec. 29, auditions will take place at Kimilili Boys High School, serving Sirisia, Kimilili and Mt. Elgon subcounties.
On Dec. 30, the auditions move to PCEA Reliance High School, Webuye, targeting Webuye East, Webuye West and Tongaren subcounties.
The final audition day, Dec. 31, will be hosted at Bungoma High School, covering Kanduyi, Bumula and Kabuchai subcounties.
All audition days will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The target group is youth aged 9 to 35 years, with free registration and free entry.
Organizers say the registration deadline is Dec. 27 at noon, with registration being done via WhatsApp on 0701 029 503.
Announcing the auditions, Wakoli said the initiative is designed to open doors for young creatives who often lack access to platforms and exposure.
“The stage is set! I am delighted to announce that WAKS Talanta Expo auditions will officially run from 29th December to 31st December 2025, ahead of the Grand Finale on 3rd January 2026,” Wakoli said. “To all young, gifted creatives—this is your moment. Step out, be bold, and let your talent speak for you.”
He added that the expo was intentionally created as a launchpad for future opportunities.
“This platform was created for you, because you never know who is watching or where your gift can take you. Let’s shine, let’s inspire, and let’s make history together,” he said.
The WAKS Talanta Expo is the first countywide talent initiative of its kind spearheaded by a sitting youthful leader in Bungoma.
Beyond entertainment, it is expected to help identify marketable skills, promote self-employment and link young people to creative industry opportunities, both locally and nationally.
For many Bungoma youths, the expo offers not just a stage, but a pathway — turning talent into livelihoods today and building a creative economy for the county’s future.
