Cardinal Otunga Girls’ High School has risen to prominence as one of Western Kenya’s most admired institutions of learning, thanks to the visionary leadership of Senior Principal Christine N. Sifuna.

Since assuming leadership, Mrs. Sifuna has guided the school to remarkable success in academics.
In the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, Cardinal Otunga Girls posted an impressive mean score of 8.3641 (B−).
Out of 412 candidates, 394 qualified for direct university admission, a 95.63 percent transition rate that firmly placed the school among the top performers in Bungoma County and beyond.
Education experts and parents alike have attributed this outstanding performance to her focus on teamwork, discipline, and effective academic planning that ensures consistency and accountability in every department.
Her impact extends beyond academic excellence. Under her stewardship, the school has witnessed a major facelift in infrastructure and facilities.
Through partnerships with both public and private institutions, Cardinal Otunga Girls has added a state-of-the-art dormitory funded by the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), capable of housing 300 students.
The project has eased congestion and significantly improved student welfare.
