President William Ruto has defended the government’s 10-point development agenda, insisting that the policy framework was not imposed by any external actors and that his administration remains accountable only to the people of Kenya.

Speaking during a public address, Ruto dismissed claims that certain groups or individuals have the authority to supervise or dictate how the agenda should be implemented.

The president said some critics are attempting to position themselves as overseers of the government’s development plan despite having no mandate from the Kenyan people.

Ruto emphasized that the agenda was formulated by his administration to address key national priorities, including economic growth, job creation, agricultural productivity and social development.

He said the government’s focus remains on delivering tangible results that improve the livelihoods of citizens across the country.

According to the president, the administration’s responsibility is clear: to implement the development plan effectively and report its progress directly to Kenyans.

He stressed that the electorate gave the government its mandate and therefore remains the only authority to which it is accountable.

Ruto also urged leaders and stakeholders to support the implementation of the agenda rather than attempt to claim ownership or supervisory roles over it.

He noted that the success of the development blueprint will depend on cooperation between government institutions, leaders and citizens.

The president reiterated that his administration will continue rolling out policies and programs aimed at stabilizing the economy, empowering farmers, supporting small businesses and expanding opportunities for young people.

He said the government remains committed to fulfilling the promises made to voters and will ultimately be judged by Kenyans based on the results achieved through the 10-point agenda.
