Harambee Stars attacker Job Ochieng made his La Liga debut after coming on in the second half during Real Sociedad’s 3-1 victory over Elche, becoming the third Kenyan to play in Spain’s top flight.
Ochieng entered the match in the second half as Sociedad went on to secure victory.
The appearance marked a milestone in Kenyan football history, placing Ochieng alongside McDonald Mariga and Michael Olunga as the only Kenyans to feature in La Liga.
The forward has been developing through Real Sociedad’s system and has been pushing for first-team opportunities after consistent performances at the club’s lower tiers.
The debut is seen as part of a broader trend of Kenyan players breaking into Europe’s top leagues, raising hopes of stronger international competitiveness for Harambee Stars in future competitions.
