For years, Kamusinde Boys High School had drifted in the shadows, weighed down by underperformance and quiet despair.
But today, hope echoes in every classroom, every dormitory, and every field, all thanks to Senior Principal Gabriel Barasah, the man whose leadership refused to accept defeat.
The KCSE 2025 provisional results tell a story that goes beyond numbers. The school posted a mean score of 6.9663, rising sharply from 5.7 in 2024, marking a positive deviation of 1.2663.
Even more remarkable is the 63.5 per cent university transition rate, a figure that has turned despair into tears of joy for families who had once feared their sons’ dreams might fade at the school gate.
Behind these statistics lies a deeper, more emotional transformation. Boys who had once felt invisible are now performing consistently in upper and middle grades, with strong numbers in B+, B, and C+ bands.
Teachers credit Barasah’s hands-on leadership for this turnaround, noting that early mornings, academic clinics, and careful monitoring have rekindled a culture of discipline, focus, and ambition.
“Before him, we had almost given up,” said one parent. “Now we believe not just in exams, but in him.”
Co-curricular activities, once neglected, have also been revived. Sports, clubs, and societies now complement academics, instilling teamwork, confidence and resilience in students who are learning to dream bigger than the limits of their past.
Parents, alumni, and local stakeholders describe the changes as nothing short of a miracle. Staff meetings now buzz with energy, classrooms are filled with purpose, and the air is heavy with the promise of what Kamusinde Boys can achieve.
Under Gabriel Barasah’s stewardship, Kamusinde Boys High School is no longer a place of quiet despair.
It is a school reborn, a testament to relentless leadership, unwavering belief, and the power of refusing to accept defeat.
The journey is just beginning, but one thing is clear: Kamusinde Boys is rising, and this time, it is aiming for glory.
