MTM Rugby Webuye 10s 15th Edition Kicks Off at Misikhu Grounds

The much-anticipated 2025 MTM Rugby Webuye 10s tournament officially kicks off today at Saint Cecilia Girls’ School, Misikhu Grounds, ushering in the 15th edition of the annual rugby spectacle that has grown into a major fixture on the regional sporting calendar.
The three-day tournament, which runs from today until December 28, 2025, is expected to draw teams, fans and rugby enthusiasts from across the region, offering a vibrant showcase of emerging talent and competitive rugby action.
This year’s edition will feature Age Grade competitions, with both girls’ and boys’ teams competing in the Under-18 category. Organisers say the focus on youth rugby underscores the tournament’s role in nurturing young talent and promoting inclusivity in the sport.
Speaking ahead of the opening matches, tournament officials expressed optimism that the 15th edition would be one of the most competitive and well-organised yet, noting steady growth in participation and fan engagement over the years.
The tournament has received a major boost with KCB Bank coming on board as the official sponsors of the 15th edition, a move expected to enhance the quality of organisation and overall experience for players and spectators alike.
As the first matches get underway, rugby fans are set for three days of thrilling action, camaraderie and celebration of grassroots rugby development at the Misikhu Grounds.
