Celebrated Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Akothee has dismissed viral claims on TikTok alleging she was involved in a road accident on her way to the Maasai Mara National Park.
The star confirmed she is currently in the United Kingdom on vacation, not in Kenya as the rumors suggested.
Akothee’s Response
Taking to Facebook, Akothee shared screenshots of the misleading TikTok video, describing the reports as baseless.
“Wait, hata mimi nangoja menopause kwanza, usiniharakishe na kifo. Yaani, if Kenyans were selling Oxygen, I swear they won’t serve me. I am still in the UK—hakuna Maasai Mara huku,” she wrote.
Expressing frustration over the spread of misinformation, she warned content creators against fabricating stories and urged acquaintances not to forward unverified rumors.
“And to my acquaintances with my contacts, don’t send me things you get on social media if not from my page or my family pages. Utakula Block,” she cautioned.
She further reminded fans that only she and her family can give official updates on her health and personal life.
A VIP Weekend in the UK
While the rumors circulated, Akothee was spotted enjoying an exclusive weekend in Manchester. She attended the high-profile Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford as a VVIP guest.
The match ended in a 2-1 victory for Manchester United in a dramatic encounter that saw both sides reduced to 10 men—Chelsea’s goalkeeper Robert Sánchez receiving an early red card, followed later by United’s Casemiro.
