As Andrew Kibe nears the end of his incredible tour of Kenya’s 47 counties, his adventures have taken him to every corner of the country, from bustling cities to remote, off-the-beaten-path destinations. The journey has been filled with highs, lows, and unforgettable moments, but when he recently sat down with his friend Daniel Wabala, Kibe opened up about one of the most challenging parts of his tour—getting to Lodwar.
Lodwar, a town in Turkana County, is not exactly an easy place to access. The road to this remote region is long, treacherous, and at times, unpredictable. For Kibe, who is no stranger to traveling, the journey to Lodwar became a test of both endurance and patience. As he shared his experience with Wabala, it was clear that this part of the tour had left a lasting impression on him.
“The road to Lodwar was one of the toughest I’ve ever taken,” Kibe admitted. “It’s not just about the distance. It’s the constant dust, the heat, and the uncertainty of the road ahead. At times, you wonder if you’ll make it, but somehow, you push forward.”
But despite the hardships, Kibe found that the challenge of reaching Lodwar only made his experience more rewarding. The region’s raw beauty, combined with the strength of its people, made every mile worth the struggle. “The people in Lodwar are some of the most welcoming I’ve met. Despite the tough conditions, they have a warmth and spirit that makes the journey feel worthwhile,” Kibe reflected.
The more Kibe spoke about his time in Lodwar, the more it became clear that this trip wasn’t just about conquering difficult roads—it was about discovering the stories and communities that make up Kenya’s heart and soul. Whether he was sharing a meal with locals or learning about their culture, Kibe’s tour wasn’t just a physical journey—it was an emotional one as well.
As his nationwide tour winds down, Kibe is eager to share the experiences he’s gained with his followers. He hopes that his journey will inspire others to take the road less traveled and explore the parts of Kenya that remain hidden to many.
