Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has today launched the construction of KSh 498 Million County Administration Block at Milimani Estate, Bungoma.
The 10-storey building will lessen the cost incurred by the County Government through leased facilities scattered around the CBD, as well as providing a lasting solution on office space.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, Lusaka noted that the new Block is his brain child project, committing to ensure it’s completed on time.
“This is my legacy project, it is a one stop shop for all our administrative operations and will subsequently, consolidate our services to the residents”,He observed.
He said, the construction site will create job opportunities for locals, urging the contractor to utilize the youths for manual and skilled labour force.
“I have instructed the contractor to use the locals during the construction process, as part of empowering our people”,He assured.
The Administration Block will house County Administration,all Departments,Service Delivery Unit, resident call centres among others.
The legacy facility, located in the heart of Milimani suburbs, provides a serene and conducive environment for operations, and its completion has been projected to take a period of 3 years, as per the estimation by the Department of Lands, Urban Planning and Municipalities.
