Bwake Boys Senior School in Trans nzoia county continues to distinguish itself as one of Kenya’s most progressive and fast-rising learning institutions, building a strong reputation for academic excellence, disciplined leadership, and outstanding co-curricular achievement.
Under the visionary leadership of principal John Mukongolo, the institution has strengthened its position as a centre of excellence that nurtures talent, inspires ambition, and delivers measurable results in both academics and sports.
Academic excellence on a steady rise
Bwake Boys has recorded remarkable academic progress in recent years, reflecting a well-structured learning environment and a commitment to high standards of performance.
In the most recent national examinations, the school achieved a mean score of 7.8, a clear indicator of consistent improvement and academic stability. Even more significantly, the institution successfully produced 397 students who qualified for direct entry into public universities, reinforcing its role as a reliable pathway to higher education and future career success.
These achievements underscore Bwake Boys’ focus on learner development, teacher commitment, and a results-oriented academic culture that continues to deliver value to students and parents alike.
A centre of sporting excellence
Beyond the classroom, Bwake Boys has built a formidable identity as one of Kenya’s leading school rugby programs, earning recognition at both national and regional levels.
The school’s landmark achievement came in 2024, when it was crowned KSSSA National 7s Champions after a hard-fought 19–14 victory over Vihiga High in a sudden-death final at Kisii School grounds. The triumph was the culmination of an impressive campaign that saw Bwake eliminate defending champions in the quarter-finals and overcome St Mary’s Yala in the semi-finals.
The team further cemented its dominance by winning consecutive Rift Valley 7s titles in 2024 and 2025, demonstrating consistency, depth, and competitive strength. Their performances included commanding victories over top regional schools, reflecting a well-developed rugby program built on discipline and tactical excellence.
In the 15-a-side format, Bwake Boys continued its winning tradition by securing the Trans Nzoia County 15s Championship, going unbeaten throughout the tournament and delivering dominant performances, including a 39–0 victory over St Joseph’s Boys Kitale.
Building a strong institutional identity
Bwake Boys has steadily evolved into a brand associated with excellence, resilience, and ambition. Its growing reputation in rugby has earned the team the nickname “Giant Killers,” reflecting its ability to compete and succeed against some of the country’s most established schools.
Under Mukongolo’s leadership, Bwake Boys Senior School has embraced a holistic approach to education—balancing academic achievement with co-curricular development to produce well-rounded learners prepared for national and global opportunities.
A forward-looking institution
As the school continues to build on its achievements, Bwake Boys stands out as a model of modern secondary education—where structured leadership, academic focus, and sporting excellence work together to shape future leaders.
With a strong academic record, a championship-winning sports culture, and a clear vision for growth, Bwake Boys is steadily positioning itself among Kenya’s most promising institutions of excellence.
