Youth leader Kasmuel McOure has told Edwin Sifuna that he “will not return as secretary general” of the Orange Democratic Movement as the embattled official moves to court to challenge his ouster.
McOure said Sifuna is free to pursue legal redress but maintained that the party’s decision to remove him from the position stands.
“You will not return as secretary general of ODM,” McOure said, dismissing the court action as unlikely to reverse the political outcome within the party.
Sifuna has indicated he will challenge the decision through the courts, arguing that due process was not followed and that he remains the legitimately elected secretary general.
Sifuna vowed to defend his position and the party’s internal democratic structures.
The dispute has exposed deep divisions within ODM’s leadership, with supporters on both sides trading accusations over loyalty, discipline and the party’s future direction.
The matter is expected to be determined through legal and party mechanisms as tensions continue to simmer within the opposition outfit.
