Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has launched his Bungoma gubernatorial campaign with an appeal to residents to embrace unity, faith and collective responsibility as the foundation for the county’s development.
“We must preach richness, we must preach wealth, and that’s what we are going to do in this county,” Wanyonyi told cheering supporters during the Sunday rally. “It is possible, and it can be done — Bungoma will be great again.”
The event, marked by prayer and sermons, brought together bishops, clergy and political leaders who underscored the role of the church in shaping leadership and instilling hope.
Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama urged believers to resist despair, warning against leaders who dwell only on lamentations. “We cannot lead by lamenting. We must show our people the way,” he said.
Webuye East MP Martin Pepela called for teamwork and accountability, reminding residents of their duty to support the county’s leadership.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. We must work as a team to deliver development,” he said.
Wanyonyi also encouraged residents to register as voters, stressing that civic participation is both a duty and a pathway to transformation.
The rally’s blend of scripture, song, and speeches framed development as a moral calling, leaving many supporters convinced that Bungoma’s progress will depend on inclusive leadership rooted in faith and unity.
