Speaker of the National Assembly Dr.Moses Wetangโula on Sunday announced the death of David Njuguna Kiaraho, the Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou Constituency, who died while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
In an official communication to the National Assembly, Wetangโula said Kiaraho passed away Sunday evening, describing his death as a significant loss to Parliament and the country.
โIt is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho,โ Wetangโula said, extending condolences on behalf of the Parliamentary Service Commission to the legislatorโs family, friends and constituents.
Kiaraho, a third-term lawmaker, had represented Ol Kalou Constituency since his first election in 2013.
During his tenure, he served in key parliamentary committees, including the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee, where he was involved in legislative oversight and policy review.
Born in 1963, Kiaraho attended Alliance High School before proceeding to the University of Nairobi, where he earned a degree in Architecture.
Before entering politics, he built a career as an architect and served as a principal architect at Archgrid Systems, contributing to infrastructure and built environment projects.
Wetangโula said Parliament will coordinate funeral arrangements with the family, appointing a committee led by Kinangop MP Kwenya Thuku and Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau to oversee preparations.
Lawmakers across the political divide have begun paying tribute, describing Kiaraho as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to infrastructure development and parliamentary work will be remembered.
Funeral details are expected to be announced in due course.
