William Ruto is set to begin an extensive development tour of Western Kenya next week, with several key engagements planned in Bungoma County aimed at accelerating infrastructure and service delivery in the region.
According to the presidential schedule, the tour will kick off on Tuesday in Cheptais where the president is expected to address residents at Toroso Primary School in Mt. Elgon Constituency.
During the visit, Ruto will launch and inspect a number of government development projects targeting roads, education, water supply and economic empowerment programs.
The engagements are also expected to bring together local leaders, community representatives and national government officials.
State House officials say the Western Kenya tour forms part of the government’s broader agenda to ensure equitable development across the country and to accelerate the implementation of priority projects in counties.
Leaders from Bungoma have welcomed the visit, saying it offers an opportunity for the national government to assess ongoing projects and announce new investments aimed at improving livelihoods in the region.
The president is also expected to hold consultative meetings with regional leaders as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the national government and county administrations in implementing development programs.
The Western region tour will include several public engagements and project launches across multiple counties over the coming days.
