Namisindwa District voters are in for a real treat this election.
The contest so tight it could give anyone a headache, featuring Peace Khalayi Simiyu, the NRM flag bearer armed with youth, charm and a father’s business wallet and Dr. Sarah Khanakwa, the seasoned professional with more networks than a tech conference.
Simiyu, barely out of her twenties, has been promising change, fresh ideas, and energy that comes free with the territory—or maybe fueled by her father’s bank account.
Her supporters cheer for “new blood,” waving banners and selfies, while the sitting MP and local NRM leaders quietly nod in approval.
Meanwhile, Dr. Khanakwa leans on experience, expertise and a Rolodex that probably rivals a small nation’s directory.
She warns that politics isn’t just about charisma and rallies—policy and networks still matter.
Still, she’s chosen to continue her bid as an independent, keeping the race exciting and possibly giving campaign strategists a few sleepless nights.
Analysts say the race is neck-and-neck, leaving voters to ponder a serious question: do you want youthful vigor backed by business cash, or a doctor with a Rolodex that never quits?
In Namisindwa, both options are equally tempting—and equally entertaining.
